The Travel Promotion Act
The Discover America Partnership has made great progress toward enacting the travel system reforms outlined in the Blueprint.  One critical reform is still pending.  Legislation has been introduced in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to establish a nationally coordinated campaign to promote the United States abroad as a premier travel destination.  The Partnership needs your help to urge your elected officials to act swiftly on this legislation.

America Needs a Travel Candidate
In addition, despite the importance of travel, the presidential candidates have yet to address the issue in a meaningful way.  The campaigns are in full swing, and now is the time to contact the contenders and tell them you want a travel candidate who will take travel issues seriously.

• Despite the decline in favorability towards America, opinions of Americans remain relatively strong
• In Germany and France, 65 percent or more hold a favorable opinion of Americans
• Even in Jordan, there is a 23 percent difference between opinions of America and opinions of Americans
